We attribute our partnership to the power of LinkedIn and social media in general. Both of us learned to use social media to support our student success efforts and to connect with and follow like-minded thought leaders in higher education and beyond. While Michelle was sharing her “College Tips with Professor Wilson” made-for-Instagram-videos and San Jac 1st Gen events, Daniel was sharing UHD Facebook Live videos and promoting work with TACHE, the Texas Association of Chicanos in Higher Education and HACU, the Hispanic Association of Colleges and Universities. Because both of us are passionate student advocates and avid content creators, it was only a matter of time before we connected and joined forces. What we offer is our dedicated focus towards first generation college students and higher education professionals who need a social space for discussing our histories, our challenges, our many successes, and our collective future.
